Last summer, Disney released a brand new animated series called “Hailey’s On It”, which Hailey Banks, a risk-averse but resourceful teenager on a mission to complete every item on her long list of challenging (and sometimes impractical) tasks in order to save the world. Hailey will be pushed outside her comfort zone to discover the greatness within as she systematically conquers her fears, whether she is winning a sand-building competition, wrestling a honey badger, eating a raw onion, or facing her ever-growing and complicated feelings toward her best friend, Scott.

Since the initial series premiere in June, we’ve seen new episodes drop onto Disney+ and air on the Disney Channel, with some more episodes from the first season scheduled to arrive in March.

However, recently, Auli’i Cravalho, who starred in the title role of Hailey and also in the smash-hit film, “Moana”, has hinted that the show looks to have been cancelled after one season.

The actress has recently updated her Spotify profile and states:

She also provided the voice of Hailey for the short-lived Disney animated series Hailey’s on It!

Nothing has been officially confirmed by Disney that “Hailey’s On It” has come to an end after one season, but Camille Bautista, who is the production secretary for the show, has taken to social media to state that the show hasn’t been cancelled, but it hasn’t been renewed either.

Hi! Just wanted to clarify some things.

Hailey has NOT been cancelled, however we also have not gotten any news of a S2 renewal from Disney.

Similar to Moon Girl, our chances of getting a renewal really depends on the number of views/streams the show gets.

This is something almost every show at DTVA is struggling with at the moment. Unfortunately, with the company layoffs and strikes last year, Disney is in no rush to renew/greenlight projects unless they know it’s going to pull the numbers they want to see.

It’s a desperately hard time for the animation industry as a whole, so please support the craft by watching through legal means if you can!!

Thank you to everyone who has watched and supported Hailey’s On It so far! Majority of the crew have rolled off already, but know that we have all been over the moon getting to see everyone’s reactions towards the show (and we adore all of your fanart!!)

Also to our international fans, we unfortunately have no control over the broadcasting schedule overseas  I guess the best bet to watch the series legally would be through a VPN or to wait until your county’s broadcast

Recently, the executive producer for “Moon Girl And Devil Dinosaur” and “The Ghost And Molly McGee” spoke out about how those shows future really depends on how many people watch the show on Disney+, so pirating it does impact a show’s future.

With Disney looking to increase profits and reduce costs, it is looking to reduce the amount of content it creates, instead focusing on a more curated lineup of originals, ideally focused around an established franchise.

Shows like “Hailey’s On It” have to prove they are popular enough to warrant Disney spending more money on creating more episodes. In the past few months, Disney has cancelled many Disney Channel shows, but is still developing new ones.  Hopefully, enough people will watch the show to convince Disney to continue making it.

While we wait for the last few episodes of the first season of “Hailey’s On It” to arrive on Disney+, you’ll find the previous episodes available to stream now.
