Ryan Murphy is developing a brand new drama series called “Dr Odyssey,” which ABC has given a straight-to-series order for. The series will star Joshua Jackson, who will also be an executive producer on the project, and Don Johnson.

So far, there hasn’t been much information revealed about this new series, though it is believed to be a medical procedural series set on a cruise ship.

Deadline has revealed that Phillipa Soo has joined the cast, though it’s unknown what character she will play. She has previously starred in Disney’s “Moana”, “The One And Only Ivan”, the Hulu Original series “Dopesick”, and the smash hit musical, “Hamilton”.

The series is planned to arrive on ABC in the fall. I expect it to be available on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and released as a Star Original on Disney+ around the world.

The show will be produced by 20th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television. Ryan Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz, and Joe Baken wrote and executive produced it. The trio has previously worked together on “American Horror Stories” and “Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans.”

“Dr Odyssey” is going to be directed by Paris Barclay, who has also previously worked with Ryan on “Glee” and “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”. Paris will also be an executive producer, along with Eric Paquette, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, and Nissa Diederich, who will also be executive producers.
