Ryan Murphy Developing New Series “Dr Odyssey” For ABC
Disney’s ABC has given a straight-to-series order for a brand new drama series from Ryan Murphy, called “Dr Odyssey”, which is going to star Joshua Jackson, who will also be an executive producer on the project.
Very little has been revealed about what this new series is going to be about, though Deadline‘s sources have said that it is believed to be a medical procedural series and it will be set on a cruise ship.
Joshua Jackson’s character uses his charms to help him get what he wants. The actor has previously starred in “Dr. Death”, “Dawson’s Creek”, and “Fatal Attraction”.
The plan for the series is to arrive on ABC in the fall, and I’d expect the series to also be available on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States. I’d also expect the series to also be released as a Star Original on Disney+ around the world.
The show is going to be produced by 20th Television, in association with Ryan Murphy Television. It has been written and executive produced by Ryan Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken. The trio has previously worked together on “American Horror Stories” and “Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans”.
“Dr Odyssey” is going to be directed by Paris Barclay, who has also previously worked with Ryan on “Glee” and “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”. Paris will also be an executive producer along with Eric Paquette, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson and Nissa Diederich also executive produce.
