Disney has released a trailer for the upcoming Korean Original series, “The Tyrant”, which will be coming to Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ around the world on August 14th 2024.

After years of seeing their country be suppressed by foreign powers, a group of rogue scientists working within the South Korean government begin to a develop a virus that will put their country on a level playing field with the world’s most powerful nations. Referred to as “The Tyrant Project”, the virus holds limitless potential for the advancement of humanity. However, before the project can be finalized, a group of US agents uncover the plan and demand that all samples be handed over.

Unwilling to kowtow and give up his research to the Americans, the group’s leader hires a black ops team to recover his work, but when things go south during the attack, parties on both sides will be left scrambling to recover the virus and use it to advance their own ends.

This new Korean original series stars Jo Yoon-su, who has previously starred in “True Beauty” and “Juvenile Justice,” as a vengeful assassin, Chae Jagyeong. It also stars Cha Seoungwon, who has previously starred in “Our Blues,” as a cold-blooded mercenary, Lim Sang.

Kim Seon-ho, who starred in Start-Up, will play Director Choe, the leader of the secret Korean project, while Kim Kangwoo, who starred in Le Grand Chef, will play U.S. intelligence agent Paul.

The series will consist of four episodes and has been directed by Park Hoonjung, who previously worked on “New World” and “The Witch: Part 1”.
