This holiday season, Disney+ released a brand new original series called, “The Santa Clauses”, which is a continuation of the “Santa Clause” franchise, which includes three films, all of which are available on Disney+.

In “The Santa Clauses”, Scott Calvin is back! After being Santa Claus for nearly thirty years, he’s as jolly as ever. But as Christmas declines in popularity, so does his Santa magic. Scott struggles to keep up with the demands of the job, as well as being there for his family. Upon discovering there is a way to retire from his post, Scott considers stepping down as Santa Claus and finding a worthy successor so that he can become a better father and husband.

The series stars Tim Allen as Scott Calvin/Santa Claus, Elizabeth Mitchell as Carol/Mrs. Claus, Elizabeth Allen-Dick as Sandra, Devin Bright as Noel, Austin Kane as Cal, Matilda Lawler as Betty, Rupali Redd as Grace and Kal Penn as Simon Choksi.  Tim Allen,  Jack Burditt, Kevin Hench (“Last Man Standing”), Richard Baker and Rick Messina also served as executive producers along with Jason Winer and Jon Radler for Small Dog Picture Company.

“The Santa Clauses” consists of six episodes, and it has been a success for Disney+, pulling in viewers worldwide.  But will there be a second season?

“The Santa Clauses” was initially listed by Disney as a Limited Series, which usually means that it is a program that was designed with an end date and has a limited number of episodes.   This means the chances of a second season of the show are usually much less likely, but not impossible.   For example, HBO’s “Big Little Lies” was given a second season, even though that was a limited series and another HBO show, White Lotus” was initially announced as a limited series, but a second season has just been released, and a third season has been announced.

However, Jack Burditt, who is one of the executive producers for “The Santa Clauses”, who also previously worked on “30 Rock,” “Modern Family,” “Frasier,” “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”, told Deadline that they could continue the story of “The Santa Clauses”:

We did not make it impossible to make a second season. I do think we give a good beginning, middle and end to the season, but we did not close any doors.

And following the season finale, Disney officially announced that a second season of the show has been greenlight.

When Is “The Santa Clauses” Season Two coming to Disney+?

Unfortunately, we don’t yet know when the second season will arrive on Disney+.

“The Santa Clauses”, along with all three movies, are available to stream now on Disney+ and are also available within a “Santa Clauses” collection.
