It’s the weekend and if you’re looking for something to watch on Disney+, I’ve picked out a few highlights to watch, which include some of the newest additions plus a few classics!

Star Wars: The Mandalorian – Chapter 10

Easily the most popular show on Disney+ right now, the second episode of the second season continues the trend of the monster of the week, but with lots of big special effects including giant ice spiders and a scene with the Razor Crest being chased by two X-Wings, really help ground the show in the Star Wars universe.  Plus Baby Yoda is absolutely adorable in this episode and will deliver plenty of laughs.  A very easy recommendation and if you only watch one thing on Disney+ this week, make it this.  Check out my full review

The Right Stuff – Episode 6

If you haven’t already watched this fantastic drama series, then it should move quickly to the top of your watch list, because its easily one of my favourite series of the year.  In this sixth episode, we see the astronauts continue to struggle with the pressure from the public and their own egos, as they fight to become the first person in space.  This show shouldn’t be missed.  We talk in great length about this episode in today’s What’s On Disney Plus Podcast.

A Christmas Carol

One of the newest additions to Disney+ in the US this past week, is the animated movie from 2009 that was directed by Robert Zemeckis.  Ebenezer Scrooge (Jim Carrey) begins the Christmas holiday with his usual “bah humbug” attitude, barking at his faithful clerk (Gary Oldman) and his cheery nephew (Colin Firth). He later encounters the ghost of his late business partner, who warns that three spirits will visit him that night. The ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come (all played by Carrey) take him on an eye-opening journey in the hopes that it will warm his cold heart.  This is my favourite version of this classic Christmas story and a perfect way to get you warmed up for the holiday season.

Mr Magoo

In another new addition to Disney+ in the US this past week is Mr Mago, which was originally released back in 1997 comedy and centers on Quincy Magoo (Leslie Nielson), a lovable but eccentric bumbling millionaire. Targeted by a band of international jewel thieves, the clueless Mr. Magoo sets out to retrieve a precious ruby with the help of his nephew, Waldo (Matt Keeslar), and his dog, Angus. It won’t be easy, of course—especially with someone as conniving as Luanne LeSeur (Kelly Lynch) at the helm.   I haven’t seen this movie since it first came out, so its on my watchlist for the weekend!

Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi

You might have seen a number of videos and GIFs floating around the internet this weekend that might have reminded you the finale of Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi, where the universe celebrates the destruction of the second Death Star and the apparent death of the evil Emperor.  So why not go back and check out the original movie on Disney+, plus it also might make some of last week’s episode of Star Wars: The Mandalorian make sense as there is a rather cool scene with Boba Fett!
