Every month Disney+ adds new series and films to the service. It also adds new seasons of popular shows that are already on the service. Let’s take a look at the Top 5 Films and Series. I’m excited to see each in August 2023.

Set after the fall of the Empire, “Star Wars: Ahsoka” follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy. Ahsoka is one of the most popular characters introduced in the animated “Star Wars,” and her story is sure to excite fans of all ages. Plus, for the fans of “Rebels,” it will be exciting to see the returns of Sabine, Hera, and Chopper.

I love almost all things “Star Wars,” and I loved “Rebels.” Dave Filoni says it’s essentially going to be “Rebels” Season Five, so I can’t wait to see it.

After an epic summer at Camp Shallow Lake, the Wildcats return to East High, where they prepare a stage production of “High School Musical 3: Senior Year.” But plans are disrupted when Principal Gutierrez announces that Disney has decided to make the long-awaited “High School Musical 4: The Reunion” movie on location at their beloved high school. This has been one of the more popular Disney-branded series on the service, with the first episodes arriving on launch day. The final season is expected to deliver for its fans.

While I’m not a big “High School Musical” fan, there’s no denying the success of the series or the films that preceded it. This is the last go around and I’m excited for the fans who get one more go with their favorite characters.

This group of Guardians returns for the final installment in their trilogy as they work towards getting phase five off the ground. It’s the last adventure for some of the heroes while establishing the possibility of future adventures for others. Still, after the struggle of the third “Ant-Man” film, it’s nice to see Marvel get off the ground.

Much like “Star Wars,” I love Marvel. “Guardians of the Galaxy” is the most humorous franchise in the MCU and I can’t wait to see the final film of that trilogy added to the service.

One of the most classic Disney animated films is getting a restoration that will make the colors even more vibrant. This film brought feature-length narratives back to Disney films and contains Walt Disney’s favorite animated sequence.

As part of Disney’s 100 celebrations, the company has announced it will be releasing several restored classic Disney animated shorts to the service. As a fan of the old-school Disney animation, I’m thrilled to see some of these again and others for the very first time. Disney released six in July and will be releasing six more in August.

Those are my picks. What are you excited to see on Disney+ in August?
