Disney’s Searchlight Pictures has acquired the screenplay to “Hound”, which has been written by Lisa Duva, with Set It Up’s Zoey Deutch set to both star in and produce the film.

The story follows a timid dog-groomer, Callie (who will be played by Zoey Deutch), who after being bitten by a mysterious stray dog, she’s forced to wrestle with dark, new desires as her body goes through unexpected changes.

According to Deadline, Deutch came across the script on the Purple List, NYU’s Black-List inspired list and fell in love with the project.

Zoey Deutch began her career with roles on the Disney Channel comedy series “The Suite Life on Deck” and has since gone on to appear on many TV shows including “The Ringer” and “The Politician”. She has also been in many movies including “Buffaloed” and “The Year Of Spectacular Men”, which she also helped produce.

No details on when filming is set to begin on the movie or when it would be released have yet been announced.
