One of the many films currently in development by Marvel Studios os “Blade”, which was announced at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con and will star Mahershala Ali as the vampire hunter, who is half-human/half-vampire, that has honed his abilities to hunt down the undead who have long terrorized mankind.

The film has gone through some delays, moving from a 2023 release date, sliding back to September 6th 2024, while Marvel Studios has been sorting out the issues with the script with Michael Starrbury taking over the role of head writer and changing director, following the news that Yann Demange had replaced Bassam Tariq.

Filming is due to begin later this year in Atlanta and according to Deadline, Mia Goth has joined the cast of the film, though it’s not known what character she will be playing.   Mia Goth has previously starred in the “Pearl”, “Infinity Pool” and “X”.  She will also be starring in the upcoming films, “MaXXXine” and Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein”.

This won’t be the first time “Blade” has appeared on our screens, as Wesley Snipes played the Marvel character in three films, that came out between 1998 and 2006.  There was also a TV spin-off.
