Ever since the season finale of “She-Hulk: Attorney At Law” back in the summer of 2022, there have been questions about a potential second season.

The comedy series stars Tatiana Maslany as She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters, a lawyer specialising in superhuman-oriented legal cases and is also the cousin of Bruce Banner, aka Hulk.

When the show debuted in 2022, the show quickly became one of the most controversial series released on Disney+ so far, with Marvel fans treating it like Marmite; they either loved it or hated it.   With a different tone to most other Disney+ shows, since it’s more of a lawyer comedy series, than a traditional Marvel good vs bad storyline.

This show also saw the main character break the fourth wall, talking directly to the camera, and it had a very unique season finale involving a huge AI robot called Kevin (aka the Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige), which divided fans, along with other aspects such as a twerking scene with Megan Thee Stallion.

While the series was watched more than some other recent Marvel Studios shows, with Disney cutting back on how much they spend on shows for Disney+ and also reducing the amount of Marvel Studios projects in development, not just to save money but also following feedback from fans that the quality has dipped since Marvel revved up its production engine to boost Disney+.

Since the finale, we’ve not heard any news on a potential second season or if we will see She-Hulk in other projects in the future, like “Secret Wars” or the upcoming “Captain America: Brave New World” films.

Recently, while speaking during a Codenames LIVE! – The New Class stream, She-Hulk actress Tatiana Maslany shared an unfortunate update for fans of the show, as when asked if we should hope for a second season, she replied:

“I don’t think so. I think we blew our budget, and Disney was like, ‘No thanks.'”

With the budget of the first season reported to have been over $225 million, it doesn’t come as a huge surprise to hear that a second season of “She-Hulk: Attorney At Law” is unlikely due to the amount of special effects required to create the title character will make this much more expensive to create than a street level hero like Daredevil.

I really enjoyed the first season of “She-Hulk: Attorney At Law”, but there is no doubt that this show caused lots of additional and unnecessary negativity towards the Marvel Studios brand that Disney is trying to avoid.

It’s also worth pointing out that Marvel hasn’t officially confirmed if another season will happen, so it’s still possible, but it’s also very likely we will see Tatiana Maslany popping up in other projects in the future, though possibly more likely as Jennifer Walters, since they’ll be much cheaper to do, due to requiring no VFX.  And this would work very well if she reunited with Matt Murdock in “Daredevil: Born Again” or another show/film.
