Disney has revealed that Kelci Parker has been promoted to a newly created role of VP of animation for Hulu Originals, which is part of Disney’s push into creating more adult animation.

Kelci Parker joined Hulu in July of 2020 as lead development/current programming executive, which saw her work on many Hulu/Star Original series including “Only Murders In The Building”, “Life & Beth”, “How I Met Your Father”, along with the Marvel animated originals, “MODOK” and “Hit-Monkey”.

She was promoted to the VP of comedy originals in November and now will oversee the development of new and current programming operations for original animation, while reporting to the head of scripted content, Jordan Helman.

Currently, the division is working on a number of new original adult shows for Disney’s streaming service including “Koala Man”, “Futurama”, and “Solar Opposites”.  It was also mentioned that they are working on “Hit-Monkey”, which could be a mistake or hinting that work is underway on a second season.

Adult animation has been a strong draw for viewers on all of Disney’s streaming services, especially internationally on Disney+, where multiple new shows are being released weekly including “The Great North”, “Family Guy” and “American Dad”, all of which keep the shows in the trending chart.
