20th Century Studios is producing a brand new biopic called “Deliver Me From Nowhere”, which explores the making of Bruce Springsteen’s classic 1982 album, “Nebraska”. The upcoming movie is based on the book Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska (Crown; May 2023) by Warren Zanes, the film will benefit from the involvement of Bruce Springsteen and his manager Jon Landau.

“Nebraska” was a stark solo album that was recorded on a 4-track recorder. The book and the film tell the fascinating story of Springsteen’s artistic journey in the creation of the album, which is regarded as a landmark in his musical odyssey and a source of inspiration for a generation of artists and musicians.

“Deliver Me From Nowhere” is going to be written and directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart, Hostiles) will write and direct the film.

Production on the new film is schedule to begin later this fall and FX’s “The Bear”, Jeremy Allen White is in talks to play the lead role of Bruce Springsteen.

According to Variety, Jeremy Strong is in talks to star in the film and could be playing Bruce Springsteen’s longtime manager, Jon Landau. Jeremy Strong is most well known for his role in the HBO series, “Succession”, he has also starred in “The Trial of the Chicago 7” and “The Big Short”.

The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein (The Maze Runner trilogy) and Eric Robinson, Cooper, Zanes and Scott Stuber are producing the movie.

No release details on the upcoming movie have been released yet, but it’s likely it will get a threatrical release before heading to Disney’s streaming services.
