It has been confirmed by Variety that the Hulu/Star Original animated series, “Marvel’s MODOK” has been cancelled after its first season.

After being ousted as the leader of his evil organization, divorced by his wife, disowned by his family and disrespected by just about everyone else, megalomaniacal supervillain M.O.D.O.K. (Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing) is forced to take a long hard look in the mirror. And what he sees staring back…is one damn fine handsome, big headed man. But the rest of that stuff totally stinks, so M.O.D.O.K. sets out to prove himself worthy. To reclaim his life, and hopefully — most importantly — conquer the world!

This cancellation shouldn’t come as a huge surprise, since this was one of the last projects to be released by the Marvel Television division.  This division was merged in with Marvel Studios in 2019, with Kevin Fiege taking control of the Marvel TV side, which is why we’ve seen shows like “WandaVision” and “Loki”.

At the time, there were multiple Marvel animated series in development, including “Howard the Duck” and “Tigra and Dazzler”, which were cancelled early in development.  The only other series that managed to sneak through to release was “Hit-Monkey”, which is also unlikely to return for a second season.

“MODOK” is available to watch now on Hulu and on Disney+ internationally.

What do you think of “MODOK” being cancelled?
