Disney has announced through its online help page that the price of a Disney+ subscription in Australia will be increasing on Thursday, 8th December 2022.

Currently, the price of a Disney+ subscription in Australia is $11.99 a month, or you can have an annual subscription for $119.99 a year.

The price of a monthly Disney+ subscription will increase by $2 to $13.99, and the annual price will be going up $20 to $139.99 a year on 8th December 2022.

Pricing on partner device platforms may vary, depending on platform limitations from country-specific pricing and/or currencies in the region. Discounted early-purchase pricing may also apply in certain regions.

This new price rise arrives on the same day as a new ad-supported tier launches in the United States, and the premium tier will also be getting a price hike of $3 a month.    The announcement of the Australian price rise is the first of the international price rises, and an ad-supported tier is due to launch at some point internationally in 2023.

To help save money, if you are a monthly subscriber, it might be beneficial to you to upgrade to an annual subscription before the 7th of December 2022.

Disney has recently said it is going on a cost-cutting measure to make Disney+ more profitable, and a direct price rise will no doubt help the streaming service become more profitable.
