Six iHeartMedia Podcasts Coming To Disney+ & Hulu

Over the past year, Disney, along with many other streaming platforms have begun investing in more video podcasts for their platforms, with Disney+ getting a variety of different shows covering established franchises, along with news and sports.

Today, Disney has announced a brand new video podcasting deal with iHeartMedia for six iHeartPodcasts titles, which will stream on Disney+ and Hulu.

The deal will kick off with the “Hey Jonas!” podcast, which will begin streaming on Disney+ and Hulu on August 14th 2026. Adding to its growing slate of licensed, rewatch, and companion podcasts, the collaboration will also bring video editions of iHeartPodcasts’ “Pod Meets World” to Disney+ as well as “Desperately Devoted”, “Fake Doctors”, “Real Friends with Zach and Donald”, “StraightioLab”, and “Thanks Dad with Ego Nwodim” to Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the U.S. in the coming months. New episodes will stream weekly across all podcasts.

Lauren Tempest, Head of Content Planning & Partnerships, DTC at The Walt Disney Company said in a statement regarding the new shows coming to Disney+ and Hulu:

These new video podcasts from iHeartMedia bring fans closer to their favorite worlds and the creators behind them, and we’re thrilled to make them available on Disney+ and Hulu as part of an even richer streaming experience.”

From iconic rewatch series and fan-favourite conversations to original storytelling, this deal gives both existing listeners and new viewers an easy way to discover and connect with some of podcasting’s most engaging voices through video.”

Thanks Dad with Ego Nwodim

Streams in the fall on Hulu

Raised by a single mom, Ego Nwodim may have daddy issues, but she suspects she’s in good company. Ego has funny, heartfelt conversations with her guests about the good, the bad and the not-so-pretty that have shaped their trajectories and made them who they are.

Roger’s Take: This push into offering more variety on Disney+ and Hulu does make sense, especially picking up some popular shows which are almost an extension of established franchises already owned by Disney like “Scrubs”, “Boy Meets World” and “Desperate Housewives”.

While I understand Disney is trying to boost the amount of content it has available within Disney+, and I do watch plenty of video podcasts each week, I understand the appeal. I can’t help but think Disney needs to start looking at this format and start investing in them, making them exclusive to their own platforms. Ultimately, these existing video podcasts aren’t exclusive to Disney+ or Hulu, so won’t really move the needle, but may provide Disney with data to show if its worth investing more in.

It looks like this deal is only going to cover the United States, as there was no mention of an international Disney+ release, which is a shame, as this feels like something that could have been a boost globally.
