Disney+ & Hulu Reveal Activations At The D23: The Ultimate Fan Event
Disney has announced details on what attendees at this weekend’s D23: The Ultimate Fan Event in Anaheim, California, will be able to experience from Disney+ and Hulu, which will include a 4D Theatre, Immersive Photo Ops and Limited-Edition Merchandise Await at The Disney+ Hulu Experience.
The Disney+ Hulu Experience brings streaming to life like never before at the Anaheim Convention Center – Hall A. The space features a signature 4D theatre, a collectable mystery pin quest, and personalised subscription support, alongside immersive photo opportunities inspired by Percy Jackson and the Olympians, FX’s American Horror Story, Camp Rock 3, The Simpsons, Only Murders in the Building, Marvel Television’s VisionQuest, and more.
Fans can also shop exclusive merchandise and collectables, including Toynk officially licensed enamel trading pins themed to titles like The X-Files, King of the Hill, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia; and Cardsmiths premium Refractor trading cards from series including Grey’s Anatomy, The Golden Girls, and Scrubs. Additional collectables include themed mugs and coasters, as well as vinyl records featuring Disney Channel soundtracks from High School Musical, Best of Hannah Montana, and Camp Rock.
The Disney+ Perks Treat Truck will serve up themed doughnuts and collectable patches inspired by fan-favourite Disney+ and Hulu titles. The truck will be located at the Downtown Disney District near the Lululemon store and Disneyland security checkpoint, just past the Monorail station, from August 13th through 15th, 10 am to 4 pm.
Guests attending the event can discover and collect six limited-edition Disney+ Perks patches throughout the weekend, featuring fan-favourite series like Abbott Elementary, Grey’s Anatomy, King of the Hill and Only Murders in the Building. Patches will be available at The Disney+ Hulu Experience Theater, the Disney+ Perks Treat Truck, select hotels, and more — creating a fun “collect them all” experience.
Disney is hosting a special Disney+ Perks Member Mixer, a Throwbacks-themed breakfast at the Anaheim Convention Centre on Saturday, 15th August 2026. The event features retro-inspired activities, photo-ops, and plenty of swag! This is an invite-only event for Disney+ Perks members. Members who redeemed a D23 complimentary gold membership through Disney+ Perks should check their email for more information.
Ahead of the D23 event, Disney is throwing an epic Throwbacks dance party on Thursday, 13th August 2026 from 7:30 to 11:30pm at Tomorrowland Terrace in Disneyland. Inspired by the movies and series that defined a generation, like Hannah Montana, High School Musical, The Cheetah Girls and Camp Rock, this dance party will have guests reliving the memories and the songs they know by heart.
There will also be some Hulu Animayhem at the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort over the weekend, with a celebration inspired by fan-favourite adult animated series. Limited-time menu creations themed to Futurama, King of the Hill, Family Guy, and Bob’s Burgers are available all month, and fans can collect exclusive commemorative buttons at participating locations. From August 13th to August 16th, guests also can check out a custom chalk art installation.
Roger’s Take: One of the fun things about the D23: Ultimate Fan Event is getting to roam the floor, taking in all the different experiences and activations. Taking some weird promotional photos, getting random merchandise and getting to soak in all the Disney+ excitement in one place, is unique. I certainly would love to see the main Disney+/Hulu stand at the event, especially as we’re really seeing Disney+ and Hulu becoming more intertwined ahead of the eventual merger later this year. Those patches and pins look fun, but I personally wouldn’t spend too long hunting them all down and making sure you get to experience everything, rather than just grabbing merchandise.
