One of the new animated short series announced for Disney+ at the Investor Day event in late 2020, was “Zootopia+”, which will take viewers back to the fast-paced mammal metropolis of Zootopia.

Zootopia+ dives deeper into the lives of some of the feature film’s most intriguing characters, including Fru Fru, the newly married arctic shrew; Gazelle’s talented tiger dancers; and the sloth full of surprises, Flash.

During a special presentation at the Annecy Animation Festival in France, some new details about the short series were revealed.  Originally the series was scheduled to arrive in Spring 2021, however, the series suffered from some delays, but it was revealed today that the short-form series will arrive on Disney+ on Wednesday 9th November 2022.

This series will consist of six shorts and will weave in and out of the original film, using a different television show format, such as a dance talent competition, reality show etc.

Each short will follow a different character and guests in attendance at the event got to see a short featuring Mr Big, called “The Godfather of the Bride,” which covers his origin story on the day of his daughter’s wedding.

This new series has been directed by Trent Correy and Josie Trinidad.

The original “Zootopia” film is available to watch on Disney+ now. It’s currently unknown if this series will be renamed in Europe, where it’s known as Zootropolis.

Are you looking forward to returning to Zootopia?
