Every month Disney+ adds new series and films to the service. It also adds new seasons of popular shows that are already on the service. Let’s take a look at the Top 5 Films and Series I’m excited to see each in May 2023.

1. STAR WARS: VISIONS VOLUME 2

Following on the Emmy Award-nominated success of “Star Wars: Visions,” the newest volume will continue to push the boundaries of “Star Wars” storytelling, with nine new shorts from 9 studios from around the globe. I’m excited for anything and everything “Star Wars” related, so I can’t see what these creators come up with.

2. THE MUPPETS MAYHEM

“The Muppets Mayhem” follows The Electric Mayhem Band on an epic, music-filled journey to record their first-ever studio album. I love the Muppets almost as much as I love “Star Wars,” and I’m excited to see any return to television from them. The Muppets have kind of been the forgotten franchise owned by Disney, and I want to see them more often.

3. CRATER

“Crater” is the story of Caleb Channing, who was raised on a lunar mining colony and is about to be permanently relocated to an idyllic faraway planet following the death of his father. But before leaving, to fulfill his dad’s last wish, he and his three best friends, Dylan, Borney and Marcus, and a new arrival from Earth, Addison, hijack a rover for one final adventure on a journey to explore a mysterious crater. I have to say this looks like an interesting space adventures.

4. SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING

Tom Holland’s second appearance as Spider-Man, but his first feature length film starring the character is making its way to Disney+. Following the events of “Captain America: Civil War,” Peter Parker is now anxiously awaiting his next mission from Tony Stark but runs into trouble when he learns about the Vulture. It’s one of the best “Spider-Man” films we’ve seen, and I can’t wait to see it take its rightful place with the other MCU films on Disney+.

5. VENOM

The first film in Sony Pictures universe of “Spider-Man” villains being presented as heroes is also coming to Disney+. Tom Hardy plays Eddie Brock/Venom in “Venom.” While I’m not sold on Sony’s attempt at superhero or villain cinematic universe, I did enjoy this film and can’t wait to see it again.

Those are my picks for the month of May. What will you be watching?
