Every month Disney+ adds new series and films to the service. It also adds new seasons of popular shows that are already on the service. Several of us here at “What’s On Disney Plus” are going to give you our Top 5 Films and Series we’re excited to see each month. Let’s take a look at January 2023.

ROGER:

EXTRAORDINARY

This brand new British comedy is a mix of “Derry Girls” and “The Boys”, about a women who lives in a world where everyone has a superpower, except for here. She learns how to adapt in a world where she doesn’t fit in. It’s a funny series and I’m really looking forward to everyone to see this show, when it drops on Jan 25th on Disney+ around the world and on Hulu in the US.

THE MENU

This new Searchlight Pictures film drops onto Disney+ internationally in early January and I’m really looking forward to watching this film about a couple who visit a special restaurant, which has a unique twist where they are taking part in a game, where the guests are killed by the staff. It looks a bit brutal, and I missed it in cinemas, so I can’t wait to watch it.

THE BAD BATCH

The Clones return in a brand new series, where they continue to deal with the effects of the Empire taking control of the galaxy. The family dynamic between Omega and her brothers is a unique twist, plus this second season will continue to fill in the gaps between the prequel and classic trilogy.

WELCOME TO CHIPPENDALES

Unfortunately, the European released was delayed, but the entire season will arrive at once on Disney+ in the UK on the 11th of January. This is the story of Indian immigrant Somen “Steve” Banerjee, who becomes the unlikely founder of a male revue that becomes a cultural phenomenon. I’ve already seen the first few episodes, and honestly, I can’t wait to see the rest of the series.

WILLOW

The finale of “Willow” arrives on Disney+ in January, and this has been a really interesting series. It’s got a weird mix of a classic fairytale, but with a modern twist. I’ve been really enjoying the show, and it’s been great catching up with Willow, as I was a big fan of the original film.

JEREMY:

STAR WARS: THE BAD BATCH – SEASON 2

The popular animated series from LucasFilm makes its return to Disney+ in January. Follow the Bad Batch as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. In Season 2, months have passed since the events on Kamino and the Bad Batch continue their journey navigating the Empire after the fall of the Republic.

SHARKATRAZ

This National Geographic documentary takes a look at San Francisco Bay and the various shark species that liver. Alcatraz guards made sure the prisoners knew it, telling stories of sharks to stop escapes.

RIDING BRITAIN’S RAILWAYS

This docuseries provides a unique and revealing history of Britain’s railroads and our engineering evolution.

WILLOW

The popular fantasy series from LucasFilm will be wrapping up in January and I’m expecting to see an exciting conclusion to the this tale.

NATIONAL TREASURE: EDGE OF HISTORY

The treasure hunt continues into January. Follow our team of treasure hunters as they look for answers on the Free Masons, Jess’ dad and Liam’s grandfather.

Those are some of our picks. What are you look forward to in January?
