Recently, Tom Hiddleston appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show to promote his return to the BBC series, “The Night Manager”, during that interview, the actor was asked if he knew if he’d still be playing “Loki” all these years later when he first got the role fourteen years ago.

“I had no idea, and every time someone says that [it’s been 14 years], it kind of blows my mind because when I was cast in 2009, I was 28, and I’m 43 now, and that’s a big chunk of my adult life I’ve been playing this amazing character.  It’s changed the course of my life completely.”

Jimmy also asked Tom if he would be returning to the role of Loki, especially following the season two finale of the Disney+ Original series, “Loki”, which put the character in the middle of the universe, holding onto all the different timelines.  Tom replied:

“I don’t know.  I really don’t know.”

It’s common for actors to openly talk about upcoming projects for multiple reasons, i.e. they haven’t officially signed on, or the project hasn’t been announced, etc.  This is why Jimmy Kimmel pointed out that actors within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially, will outright lie when asked about their future in the long-term franchise.

“I know that we’ve reached some sort of narrative conclusion with season two, which feels very satisfying to me.”

With Loki now being central to the multiverse and the Disney+ show introducing the Time Variance Authority (TVA), which is going to be central to the upcoming “Deadpool & Wolverine” film, plus with Kang being the major villain for the next two “Avengers” movies, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Loki make an appearance, but Marvel will probably want to keep that a secret for a while.

Both seasons of “Loki” are available to stream now on Disney+.
