Taylor Swift Takes Over Disney+
To tie in with the release of the “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)” concert special on Disney+ around the world, the front page of Disney+ has been taken over as part of its launch.
The history-making, cinematic experience, “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour” directed by Sam Wrench, grossed more than $260 million worldwide at the global box office, making it the top selling concert film of all-time.
The takeover includes making special Disney’s Versions collections of movies and shows inspired by different Taylor Swift songs, including:
- Fearless (Disney’s Version)
- Speak Now (Disney’s Version)
- Red (Disney’s Version)
- 1989 (Disney’s Version)
- Reputation (Disney’s Version)
- Lover (Disney’s Version)
- Folklore (Disney’s Version)
- Evermore (Disney’s Version)
- Midnights (Disney’s Version)
Each of these collections has been themed loosely on each of Taylor’s songs, like “Red”, including “Turning Red” and “Cars”, both of which feature a red character. The 1989 collection includes movies and shows made during 1989, among others.
The movies and shows featured in each “Version” will vary depending on your location, with the US homepage looking very different to the international homepage since the Hulu content isn’t incorporated (yet!) onto the home page.
This is a cute and easy promotional tool to highlight not just the new concert, but also to give the whole Disney+ homepage a makeover, shuffling up the usual offerings, which will probably allow people to find some items on Disney+ that they might not have been expecting and give a boost in viewership to other shows/films.
You can stream “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)” on Disney+ now.
