“Star Wars: The Book Of Boba Fett” Premiere Event Delayed Due To Omicron Fears
With the launch of the upcoming Disney+ Original series, “Star Wars: The Book Of Boba Fett” coming up on Wednesday 29th December 2021. Disney was planning on holding a red carpet premiere event for the show after the holidays at the El Capitan Theatre on January 4th 2022.
However, due to concerns over the spike of the Omicron variant, Disney has postponed the event until February 8th 2022, where it will now celebrate the season finale instead.
In a statement to Variety, Disney said:
“Out of an abundance of caution, we will be postponing the ‘Boba Fett’ fan event. It will be relocated to the 8th of February in celebration of the finale.”
Guests who are expected to appear at the event include Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, Kathleen Kennedy and Ming-Na Wen, with more guests expected to be announced nearer the time.
“The Book of Boba Fett,” a thrilling Star Wars adventure teased in a surprise end-credit sequence following the Season 2 finale of “The Mandalorian,” finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.
Due to concerns, a number of events have recently been either delayed or cancelled due to the surge in cases.
The first episode of “The Book of Boba Fett” is coming to Disney+ from Wednesday 29th December 2021 and new episodes will be released weekly afterwards.
