Spencer Boldman Joins Cast Of Hulu/Star Original “Immigrant”
Dinsey’s 20th Television is currently developing a brand new limited series based on the story of Chippendales founder Somen “Steve” Banerjee, who will be played by Kumail Nanjiani.
The series will detail the insane, darkly comedic, crime-ridden story behind the unique male revue that became a cultural phenomenon.
The series is currently going by the working title of “Immigrant” and will also star Murray Bartlett, Juliette Lewis, Dan Stevens, Annaleigh Ashford, Quentin Plair, Andrew Rannells, Robin De Jesús and Nicola Peltz.
According to Variety, Spencer Boldman has joined the cast and will be playing the role of Lance McCrae, who is described as “the ultimate specimen” and the hottest Chippendales dancer of them all. He is also the inspiration and star of choreographer Nick De Noia’s (Murray Bartlett) greatest, most ambitious routine yet.
Spencer Boldman has previously starred in the Disney XD series, “Lab Rats” and the Disney Channel film, “Zapped”.
The series is being executive produced by Kumail Nanjiani and “Pam & Tommy” creator Robert Siegel, who is going to be a showrunner on the series, along with Jenni Konner, who is also executive producing. Also producing the series is Dylan Sellers, Matt Shakman, Emily V. Gordon, Nora Silver and Rajiv Joseph, who is writing on the series along with Mehar Sethi. Matt Skakman is going to be directing the series. Jacqui Rivera is a co-executive producer, and Annie Wyman is a co-producer.
“Immigrant” will be released as a Hulu Original in the U.S. and internationally as an Original on Disney+ under the Star banner and on Star+ in Latin America.
