Nielsen has announced its top 10 streaming charts for the United States from July 15th, 2024, to July 21st 2024. There are four different charts: Top 10 Originals, Acquired Shows, Movies, and a combined total chart.

During this week in mid-July, “The Acolyte” managed to claw its way back onto the originals chart following the release of the season finale, though its viewing figures highlight a major problem with the state of Star Wars as this series failed to connect with audiences, turning many older fans away and also new viewers at the same time.   The failure of this show is likely going to result in some major changes at Lucasfilm, as Star Wars is one of the core brands for Disney+.

The latest season of “The Bear” on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ slipped slightly on the original chart, while Max’s biggest original series, “House Of The Dragon”, topped both the Acquired chart.

Disney continues to dominate the acquired chart, with half of the shows such as “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Family Guy”, “Bob’s Burgers”, and “Criminal Minds” on the chart available on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+. This also impacts the overall chart, as half of the shows are available on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+.   “Bluey” also continues to be a massive hit for Disney+, and Hulu continues to do well in the overall and acquired charts.

The latest Disney Original Movie, “Descendants: The Rise of Red” has also been a big success for Disney+, keeping younger viewers engaged and returning to watch the movie.
