Timothy Simons To Star In “Percy Jackson And The Olympians” Season 2
Production is currently underway in Vancouver, Canada on the second season of the hit Disney+ Original series, “Percy Jackson And The Olympians”.
Season two of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is based on the second instalment of Disney Hyperion’s best-selling book series titled “The Sea of Monsters” by award-winning author Rick Riordan. In the new season, Percy Jackson returns to Camp Half-Blood one year later to find his world turned upside down. His friendship with Annabeth is changing, he learns he has a cyclops for a brother, Grover has gone missing, and camp is under siege from the forces of Kronos. Percy’s journey to set things right will take him off the map and into the deadly Sea of Monsters, where a secret fate awaits the son of Poseidon.
The series stars Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth Chase) and Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood). It also was recently announced that Daniel Diemer was going to be playing the role of fan-favourite cyclops “Tyson” and at last weekend’s D23: The Ultimate Fan Event, it was revealed that Sandra Bernhard, Kristen Schaal, and Margaret Cho have joined the cast and will play the Grey Sisters.
Variety has announced that Timothy Simons has joined the cast of the second season, where he will be playing the role of Tantalus, who is described as “sardonic, manipulative, openly hostile, and rarely in a good mood… seeing as he is cursed with eternal hunger and thirst, but can never eat or drink. Tantalus has been released from imprisonment in the Underworld to become the interim Activities Director at Camp Half-Blood, having replaced Chiron (Glynn Turman), who is under suspicion of having ties to Kronos.”
Timothy Simons has previously starred in “Veep”, “Candy”, “Looking for Alaska” and “Station Eleven”.
Created by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg, season two of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is executive produced by Steinberg and Dan Shotz alongside Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Craig Silverstein, The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, The Gotham Group’s Jeremy Bell and D.J. Goldberg, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Albert Kim, Jason Ensler and Sarah Watson.
The first season of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is available on Disney+, and the second season will be released on Disney+ in 2025.
