One of the most anticipated shows currently in development for Disney+ is “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” and while many fans had been hoping for an update during last weeks Disney+ Day, we’ve not got an update from Percy Jackson’s creator Rick Riordan, who took to his personal blog to say:

Not much I can report since last time, but everything is good and we are working furiously. As I said before, we are working to finish the first four scripts for PJOTV by the New Year, which we anticipate will be our final hurdle before an official green light. That hasn’t changed. We’re on track and everyone is happy with the progress, but it’s unlikely you will hear any other big news from me about PJOTV until the start of 2022. That doesn’t mean things aren’t cooking along nicely behind the scenes, though…

One of the great things about Rick Riordan is that he likes to keep fans updated on the development of his projects, which helps keep fans expectations in check, while also reducing rumours and this looks to be the last update on the new Disney+ series for this year.

Recently, it was revealed that James Bobin will be directing the pilot episode of the Disney+ series.

The first season is going to be an adaptation of “The Lightning Thief” and should the series be successful, the hope is that they will then adapt further books in the series into further seasons.

It’s not much of an update, but at least we know things are still moving along.
