Earlier this year, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that in December, some select content from Hulu would become available on Disney+ in the United States for Disney Streaming Bundle subscribers.

Last Friday, Disney made its first payment of over $8 billion to Comcast for its 33% stake in Hulu, and while Disney hasn’t announced any official details on when Hulu content will become available, some new details on Hulu On Disney+ have been revealed via the official Disney+ homepage, giving us a little information on how Hulu On Disney+ will work.

And this new information reveals that Disney+ will have a Hulu hub, similar to how the Star hub is available on Disney+ internationally.

Here’s some FAQ information that gives us a little more info:

How and where can I access Hulu titles on Disney+?

If you’re a Disney Bundle subscriber or you subscribe to both Disney+ and Hulu (as standalone services with the same email address), you can stream select Hulu titles on Disney+. You can use the Hulu hub on the Disney+ homepage to jump right into streaming some of your favorite Hulu Originals, series, and more.

What Hulu content can I stream on Disney+?

Eligible subscribers can watch a wide variety of Hulu’s streaming library on Disney+. The Hulu app will continue to be the streaming destination for all premium add-on content as well as any content associated with a Live TV subscription. New titles will be added to Disney+ on a regular basis, but you can keep accessing Hulu’s complete library of content using the Hulu app.

While watching Hulu titles on Disney+, will I see ads?

When you stream Hulu titles on Disney+, your plan type will determine whether your viewing experience is free of commercial interruption. If you already have an ad-supported Hulu subscription, Hulu content streamed on Disney+ will have ads. If your subscription includes a Hulu (No Ads) plan, Hulu content on Disney+ will be without commercial interruption. Additionally, if you subscribe to Disney+ Premium and Hulu (No Ads), you’ll be able to use the Disney+ app to download a variety of Hulu titles for offline viewing.

In the updated terms and conditions, it also states that:

Access content from each service separately. Location data required to watch certain content. Hulu content can be streamed via Disney+ on up to 2 devices simultaneously. Additional app feature and device restrictions apply

Hopefully, Disney will announce more details on when Hulu on Disney+ will officially become available soon, but this new FAQ information does confirm, that as long as your Hulu and Disney+ subscriptions or bundle are on the same email address, you will be able to access the Hulu content.  It also confirms that any premium add-on content from Starz or HBO won’t be available, nor will the Hulu+Live TV service.

Disney plans to make Hulu On Disney+ fully operational by March 2024 but will be running a “beta” version from this month, which is basically Disney’s way of launching the service with fewer features than they had expected to.  You won’t need to download a different app, nor will you need to register to sign up for the “beta”.   Also, international Disney+ subscribers don’t need to worry about this, since the Star within Disney+ hub also has most of the Hulu content available.

If you only have Disney+ and want access to the Hulu content, take a look at the Disney Streaming Bundle options, which start from $9.99 with ads or $19.99 for both without ads.
