Filming on the upcoming Marvel Studios Disney+ series, “Daredevil: Born Again”, is underway in New York and is scheduled to take all year to film, since the series will be much longer than a traditional Marvel Studios Disney+ series and it will consist of 18 episodes.

The new Disney+ series will see some of the actors from the Netflix shows returning, with Charlie Cox returning to the role of Daredevil; Vincent D’Onofrio is also returning as the Kingpin and Jon Bernthal reprising his role of Frank Castle aka The Punisher.    Also starring in the new Disney+ series will be Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva and Nikki M. James.

THR is reporting that Michael Cuesta will direct the first episode of ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ having previously directed episodes of “Dexter” and “Homeland”.  With the series consisting of 18 episodes, there will be lots more directors involved in the project.

It has also been revealed that Sandrine Holt, is going to be playing the role of Vanessa Fisk, the wife of Fisk.  What’s interesting about this casting, is that Vanessa Fisk was played by Ayelet Zurer in the Netflix shows, showing that Disney is willing to recast some of the characters, which ties in with previous reports that Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson, are not expected to return as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson.

At last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, it was announced that the new show is currently scheduled to be released in Spring 2024, but obviously, schedules can change between then and now, especially as Disney has decided to slow down the amount of Marvel releases each year and spread them out more.

Writers and executive producers Matt Corman and Chris Ord are behind the show.

Both seasons of “The Punisher” are also available to stream now on Disney+, along with the three Daredevil seasons.

Are you looking forward to the return of “Daredevil”?
