The next big Marvel release on Disney+ is the new series, “Ms Marvel”, which is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero megafan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home—that is, until she gets superpowers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with superpowers, right?

Variety is reporting that Laura Karpman has composed the score for the new Disney+ series.  She will also be composing the music for the upcoming film, “The Marvels”, which will see “Ms Marvel” and WandaVision’s Monica Rambeau team up with Captain Marvel.

Laura Karpman has previously scored the Marvel Studios animated series, “What If?”, which is also available on Disney+.  She has also won five Emmys including one for HBO’s “Lovecraft Country.”

In a statement to Variety, Laura Karpman said:

“I am thrilled to be a part of a wonderfully diverse team that is bringing Kamala Khan off the pages of her comic book and into your homes this June. She is an epic superhero hailing from a rich musical heritage that was a joy to be immersed in.”

“Ms. Marvel,” debuts on Disney + on  Wednesday 8th June 2022.
