One of the first major theatrical hits of the pandemic was Marvel Studios’ “Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings.” The film is about a martial artist who lives a quiet life after leaving his father and the shadowy Ten Rings organisation behind. Years later, he is forced to confront his past when the Ten Rings attack him.

The film, which stars Simu Liu in the title role, grossed over $430 million at the box office, even though some cinemas around the world were either still closed or under strict restrictions to prevent further infections.

It’s been over two and a half years since “Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings” was released, and so far, we’ve not seen the character appear in any other instalments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, nor any details of when we might see him next.

The good news is that according to industry insider Daniel Richtman, filming on the upcoming “Shang-Chi” sequel is due to begin filming in 2025 and that it is going to feature elements of time travel, which fits in with the overall multiverse phase.

It’s also been rumoured that Iron Fist will be a character featured in the film. However, it’s unlikely that we will see Finn Jones returning as Danny Rand, following the poor response to the character’s appearance in the Netflix shows.

Iron Fist is set to be introduced to the MCU in the upcoming animated Disney+ series, “Eyes Of Wakanka”. Very little is known about this new animated series, other than Ryan Coogler is developing the show and that it tells the stories from throughout Wakandan history, where brave warriors have been tasked to travel the world retrieving dangerous vibranium artifacts.

Marvel has recently brought back many of the actors from the “Defenders” lineup, including Charlie Cox, Jon Bernthal, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson and Vincent D’Onofrio, for the upcoming “Daredevil: Born Again” Disney+ series, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if Disney decided to give Finn Jones another shot.

However, Disney could simply recast the character, which it has done on many occasions, such as with War Machine and Thunderbolt Ross, or use the multiverse to circumvent the change.

“Eyes Of Wakanka” is due to arrive on Disney+ later this year, and hopefully, we will learn more about this show soon.

While we wait, you can check out “Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings”, along with both seasons of “Iron Fist” on Disney+ now.
