Marvel Reveals New Disney+ Series “Eyes Of Wakanda”
During a special press screening for the upcoming second season of Marvel Studios’ “What If”?, executive producer Brad Winderbaum, who is the head of streaming, television and animation for Marvel Studios, revealed some early details on a brand new animated series, “Eyes Of Wakanda”
Throughout Wakandan history, brave warriors have been tasked to travel the world, retrieving dangerous vibranium artefacts. This is their story.
Those in attendance at the event did get to see a little sizzle reel showcasing the show, but currently, no more information has been revealed to the public.
Back in 2021, it was revealed that “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler was developing a brand new series based on the “Kingdom Of Wakanda”, and it isn’t clear if this animated project is the same.
However, it seems likely, since Disney has been cutting back on how many live-action projects it makes, plus it’ll be much cheaper to create an animated series. Ryan has a five-year overall exclusive deal with Disney, and should this be that project, it would be the first to be created under that deal.
“Eyes Of Wakanda” is set to debut on Disney+ in 2024 and is one of many animated projects in development for the streaming service, including “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” and “X-Men 97”.
During the event, a brand new Marvel Studios Animation logo was also revealed, showcasing how the studio is building up its own separate area, which can easily explore Marvel characters.
