Harrison Ford To Star In “Captain America: New World Order” & “Thunderbolts”
Last week, it was reported that Harrison Ford was going to be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe and would be playing the role of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, replacing William Hurt, who sadly passed away due to prostate cancer earlier this year.
William Hurt played Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in many films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including “The Incredible Hulk”, “Avengers: Infinity War”, “Captain America: Civil War“, and “Black Widow”.
It has now been confirmed by many of the trades, that Harrison Ford will be debuting as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, in the upcoming film, “Captain America: New World Order”, which will star Anthony Mackie as Captain America: Sam Wilson. The movie will take place after the events of the Marvel Disney+ series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier“. The upcoming film is going to be directed by Julius Onah and will arrive in cinemas on May 3rd 2024.
It’s expected that Harrison Ford will then return in “Thunderbolts”, which is a assemble team film featuring anti-heroes and supervillains, including Yelena Belova, The Winter Soldier, U.S. Agent, Taskmaster, Ghost, and more. “Thunderbolts” will be directed by Jake Schreier and released in cinemas on July 26th, 2024.
Harrison Ford is no stranger to working on major Disney franchises, having starred as Han Solo in the Star Wars films, plus his work on the Indiana Jones films, which will see a fifth film hit cinemas next summer.
