Florence Pugh Teases Marvel’s “Thunderbolts” Movie
Marvel Studios is currently filming the new movie, “Thunderbolts”, in Atlanta, Georgia, which is a new team film that brings together many of the anti-hero characters from previous films and Disney+ shows to help save the world.
The cast includes Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, along with Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost and Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster.
Marvel has already been setting up the “Thunderbolts” movie, following some post-credit scenes of Valentina Allegra de Fontaine putting together the team. This is going to be Marvel’s equivalent to DC’s “Suicide Squad.”
Florence Pugh took to social media this week to give us a short tour of the upcoming film’s set. We get a first look at her character, Yelena Belova, who debuted in the “Black Widow” movie and also cameoed in the “Hawkeye” Disney+ series. We can see her in a new combat suit with a short new hairstyle.
“Hey guys, how are you doing? I know I’ve dropped off for a little bit, but that’s partially because I was whisked off to Atlanta to shoot a movie that I’m not really supposed to talk about. But I can show you things, sneakily, as long as you don’t tell anyone…I can show you a sneak peek of the set. They’re shooting. I’ll be quiet now.”
It’s well known that Marvel is very strict when it comes to spoilers, but the short video has been shared by Marvel’s official social media accounts, to help drum up some excitement for the upcoming film. Florence even joked about Marvel’s security, saying, “Someone is going to come rugby tackle me”.

Recently, it was revealed that Disney had shuffled its 2025 release schedule around and moved “Thunderbolts” forward to be released on May 2nd 2025, before heading to Disney+ later in the year.
During the video, Florence also shows off a director’s chair, which could be sporting an updated “Thunderbolts” logo, though it’s common for logos for Marvel projects to change throughout production.
“Thunderbolts” will be directed by Jake Schreier, and Joanna Calo has written the script for the upcoming film.
