The Walt Disney Company has a vast array of films and many of them have been featured at the Disney parks. While plenty of films have been based on rides or inspired by the parks, far more of the rides have been themed after the films. That will continue when Splash Mountain at Disneyland and Disney World is re-themed to follow “The Princess and the Frog.” So, let’s take a look at some of the films featured at the Disney parks available on Disney+.

FROZEN

When the newly crowned Queen Elsa accidentally uses her power to turn things into ice to curse her home in infinite winter, her sister Anna teams up with a mountain man, his playful reindeer, and a snowman to change the weather condition. This ride is featured in Frozen Ever After at EPCOT.

RATATOUILLE

A rat who can cook makes an unusual alliance with a young kitchen worker at a famous Paris restaurant. This film is highlighted as part of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT.

SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS

Exiled into the dangerous forest by her wicked stepmother, a princess is rescued by seven dwarf miners who make her part of their household. This film is featured in Snow White’s Scary Adventures in Disneyland and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Disney World.

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

As a new threat to the galaxy rises, Rey, a desert scavenger, and Finn, an ex-stormtrooper, must join Han Solo and Chewbacca to search for the one hope of restoring peace. This film is featured in Galaxy’s Edge at both Disneyland and Disney World.

AVATAR

A paraplegic Marine dispatched to the moon Pandora on a unique mission becomes torn between following his orders and protecting the world he feels is his home. This film is highlighted with the world of Pandora in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

PINOCCHIO

A living puppet, with the help of a cricket as his conscience, must prove himself worthy to become a real boy. This film is featured in Pinocchio’s Daring Journey at Disneyland.

THE MUPPETS

A Muppet fanatic with some help from his 2 human compatriots must regroup the Muppet gang to stop an avaricious oil mogul from taking down one of their precious life-longing treasures. There are multiple attractions featuring the Muppets at Disney parks.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

A group of intergalactic criminals must pull together to stop a fanatical warrior with plans to purge the universe. This film is featured in Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT at Disneyland and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Disney World.

FINDING NEMO & FINDING DORY

After his son is captured in the Great Barrier Reef and taken to Sydney, a timid clownfish sets out on a journey to bring him home. These films are featured in Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage at Disneyland, The Seas with Nemo and Friends at EPCOT and Finding Nemo : The Big Blue… and Beyond Show at Disney World.

THE INCREDIBLES

While trying to lead a quiet suburban life, a family of undercover superheroes are forced into action to save the world. This film is featured as part of the Incredicoaster at Disney’s California Adventure at Disneyland.

MONSTERS INC. &  MONSTERS UNIVERSITY

In order to power the city, monsters have to scare children so that they scream. However, the children are toxic to the monsters, and after a child gets through, two monsters realize things may not be what they think. These films are featured at the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor at the Magic Kingdom in Disney World, Monsters , Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue at Disney’s California Adventure in Disneyland, and Monsters, Inc. Ride and Go Seek at Tokyo Disney.

TOY STORY – 1-4

A cowboy doll is profoundly threatened and jealous when a new spaceman action figure supplants him as top toy in a boy’s bedroom. This film is featured as part of Toy Story Mania at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters at Disneyland.

CINDERELLA

When Cinderella’s cruel stepmother prevents her from attending the Royal Ball, she gets some unexpected help from the lovable mice Gus and Jaq and from her Fairy Godmother. This ride is featured in the main castle in the Magic Kingdom at Disney World.

THE LITTLE MERMAID

A mermaid princess makes a Faustian bargain in an attempt to become human and win a prince’s love. This film is featured in Ariel’s Undersea Adventure at Disneyland and Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid at Disney World.

INSIDE OUT

After young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions – Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness – conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school. This film is featured in the Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind at Disneyland.

ALADDIN

A kindhearted street urchin and a power-hungry Grand Vizier vie for a magic lamp that has the power to make their deepest wishes come true. This film is featured in the Magic Carpets of Aladdin at Disney World. 

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

A prince cursed to spend his days as a hideous monster sets out to regain his humanity by earning a young woman’s love. This film is featured in the Be Our Guest restaurant as well as a live show at the parks.

A BUG’S LIFE

A misfit ant, looking for “warriors” to save his colony from greedy grasshoppers, recruits a group of bugs that turn out to be an inept circus troupe. The film is featured in It’s Tough to be a Bug at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

DINOSAUR

An orphaned dinosaur raised by lemurs joins an arduous trek to a sanctuary after a meteorite shower destroys his family home. This film is featured in Dinosaur at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

TRON: LEGACY

The son of a virtual world designer goes looking for his father and ends up inside the digital world that his father designed. He meets his father’s corrupted creation and a unique ally who was born inside the digital world. This film will be featured in Tron Lightcycle Run opening at Disney World in April 2023.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND

Alice stumbles into the world of Wonderland. Will she get home? Not if the Queen of Hearts has her way. This film is featured in the Mad Tea Party ride at Disneyland.

WINNIE THE POOH

While searching for honey, Pooh and his friends embark on an adventure to find Eeyore’s missing tail and rescue Christopher Robin from an unknown monster called The Backson. This film is featured in Winnie the Pooh and Friends at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.

WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT?

A toon-hating detective is a cartoon rabbit’s only hope to prove his innocence when he is accused of murder. This film is featured in Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin at Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland.

SLEEPING BEAUTY

After being snubbed by the royal family, a malevolent fairy places a curse on a princess which only a prince can break, along with the help of three good fairies. This film is featured in Sleeping Beauty Castle as Disneyland.

TARZAN

A man raised by gorillas must decide where he really belongs when he discovers he is a human. This film is featured at Tarzan’s Treehouse at Disneyland.

AVENGERS

Earth’s mightiest heroes must come together and learn to fight as a team if they are going to stop the mischievous Loki and his alien army from enslaving humanity. This film is featured at Avengers Campus at Disneyland.
