Disney has released a new clip from the upcoming limited series, “Iwájú”, which is a first-of-its-kind collaboration between the Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pan-African entertainment company, Kugali.

The series is set in a futuristic Lagos, Nigeria. The exciting coming-of-age story follows Tola, a young girl from a wealthy island, and her best friend, Kole, a self-taught tech expert, as they discover the secrets and dangers hidden in their different worlds.

“Iwájú” was directed by Olufikayo Ziki Adeola, and the production designer on the show was Hamid Ibrahim, with t Toluwalakin Olowofoyeku working on the project as a cultural consultant.

Disney Animation’s Christina Chen produces the series with a screenplay by Adeola and Halima Hudson. It features the voices of Simisola Gbadamosi, Dayo Okeniyi, Femi Branch, Siji Soetan, and Weruche Opia.

All six episodes of “Iwájú” will be released exclusively on Disney+ on February 28th 2024.
