Debra Jo Rupp Calls Marvel’s “Agatha: Coven Of Chaos” A Second Season Of “WandaVision”
Marvel Studios is currently in post-production on a brand new show for Disney+ called, “Agatha: Coven Of Chaos”, which will see Kathryn Hahn returning as the evil witch, Agatha Harkness, who was introduced in the Disney+ series, “WandaVision”.
The new Disney+ series will also star Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Patti LuPone, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, and Maria Dizzia. Also returning for “Agatha: Coven of Chaos,” is Debra Jo Rupp and Emma Caufield, returning to the roles that they played in the “WandaVision” Disney+ series. Other actors returning from “WandaVision” include David Payton, David Lengel, Asif Ali, Amos Glick, Brian Brightman, and Kate Forbes.
During a recent interview with Berkshire Magazine, Debra Jo Rupp called “Agatha: Coven Of Chaos” a second season of “WandaVision” and also compared it to “American Horror Story” since every season is “a whole new kind of a thing.”
“It’s the second season of ‘WandaVision’ for Marvel. It’s very much like ‘American Horror Story,’ where each season is a whole new kind of a thing. I was shocked when they called me, because I really thought that would be it, and I was fine with that. But when they called, I got so excited because it’s a character I never get to play. She’s gonna be great fun.”
When Debra was asked about what she was most looking forward to from the series, she replied:
“I cannot tell you. I am terrified of these people. They are the most secretive people on the face of the Earth. You are forbidden to talk about anything. I’m afraid they would come arrest me.”
Debra also confirmed that some more filming for the series was going to taking place in Atlanta in a few weeks time
This I can tell you: I am basically the same person that I was in ‘Wandavision,’ Mrs. Hart, but in a different kind of a thing. We’ve shot in LA, and I’m packing now as we speak, to go to Atlanta for two months to continue shooting.”
“Agatha: Coven of Chaos” has been written by Megan McDonnell, Peter Cameron, Laura Donney, and Cameron Squires. “WandaVision” creator and exec producer Jac Schaeffer is also returning as the showrunner on Disney+ original series and will also be stepping up and will direct some of the episodes. Also directing the new Disney+ series will be Gandja Monteiro.
Back at last years’ San Diego Comic-Con, it was announced that the series had been renamed, from the previously announced “Agatha: House Of Harkness” and that it would be arriving on Disney+ in late 2023/early 2024. However, since filming is still going to be happening for a few more months and if there is a actors strike, there might be even more delays. There isn’t much chance that the series will be released this year and is going to be delayed until late 2024. Marvel is also cutting back its release schedule, to allow more development time to improve the projects and also to give audiences more time between Marvel projects, to reduce “superhero fatigue” setting in.
While we wait for “Agatha: Coven Of Chaos”, you can watch “WandaVision” on Disney+ now.
