In August, Disney is bringing a brand new movie, “The One And Only Ivan” to Disney+, along with other new additions to the Disney+ library include many titles leaving Netflix.


NOTE – This list isn’t complete and will be updated with new additions as they are announced.  Content may vary depending on your country and this list is based on the US/Canada release schedule.


Friday August 7th


Howard (Global)

Directed by Don Hahn (“Beauty and the Beast”), “Howard” is the untold story of Howard Ashman, the brilliant lyricist behind Disney classics like “Aladdin,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Little Mermaid” and creator of musicals including “Little Shop of Horrors.” Featuring never-before-seen archival footage, personal films and photographs, as well as interviews with Howard’s friends and family, the film is an intimate look at the Disney Legend’s life, his creative drive, and the process behind the music. Spanning his childhood in Baltimore, to his formative years in New York, and his untimely death due to AIDS, “Howard” goes in-depth to explore his journey to become the lyricist behind some of the most beloved and well-known classic family films in the world.


Muppets Now (Global) – Episode 102 – “Fever Pitch”

Fozzie Bear has some big ideas for Muppets Now, and there’s no time like the deadline to start pitching! He’s found a very tough audience in Scooter, who just wants to finish uploading the latest delivery. We see the very first episode of a game show that Pepe The King Prawn totally just made up. The Swedish Chef tries to cook a better molé sauce than his competitor, Danny Trejo. Dr. Bunsen Honeydew has replaced Beaker with a new smart assistant, and things get fired up. Miss Piggy and her guests, Taye Diggs and Linda Cardellini, show viewers how to work it out when they share the secret to staying healthy.


“X-Men”

The X-Men, a group of mutants with extraordinary powers, wage a fight against both intolerance, and a fellow band of radical mutants intent on exterminating the human race.


The Peanuts Movie

Life always seems complicated for good ol’ Charlie Brown (Noah Schnapp), the boy who always tries his best against seemingly impossible odds. When the Little Red-Haired Girl moves into his neighborhood, Charlie Brown develops a crush on her. Meanwhile, his best friend Snoopy embarks on an epic adventure in a fantasy world. As a World War I flying ace, the lovable beagle pursues his nemesis, the Red Baron, while also trying to win the heart of a beautiful poodle named Fifi (Kristin Chenoweth).


Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (US)

Dastan, a young prince, teams up with Princess Tamina to thwart the evil plans of his uncle Nizam, who wants to control time with the help of a special dagger.


Hidden Kingdoms of China

Exploring the secrets of China to reveal the beauty of its hidden kingdoms, with unique access to locations across the country. Five different biomes are explored, from high mountains and tropical jungles to bamboo forests, great plains, and forests.


Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge: Adventure Awaits

One Day At Disney – Episode 136 – “Ryan Meinerding: Marvel Studios Creative Director”

Creative Director Ryan Meinerding brings Marvel characters to life through innovative design every day. There’s never a dull moment as Ryan creates the first looks of characters for Marvel Studios films including Iron Man, Spider-Man, Captain America and more. From initial sketches to special effects, Ryan oversees the process of bringing the next iteration of iconic characters to the screen.


Disney Family Sundays – Series Finale Episode 140 – “Goofy: Pencil Cup”

Who says you can’t be Goofy and organized at the same time? Not Amber or the Gubaney family, who connect to work on a Goofy-inspired craft. She will show them how to turn a simple item from the cupboard into a fun organizational tool that’s sure to stand out. Meanwhile, the biggest challenge of all may be figuring out which Gubaney is the Goofiest!

Weird But True  – Episode 301 – Dinosaurs

Hosts Charlie Engelman and Carly Ciarrocchi don’t have tickets to their favorite actress’ movie premiere, but somehow their friends do. Charlie and Carly’s quest to get to the Alabama Cones premiere takes them on a fascinating journey to Dinosaur National Monument. There, they hatch a plan with a paleontologist to “dig up” the dough.


Zombies 2

Chronicling the continuing adventures of Seabrook High students Addison and Zed, whose budding romance is threatened by the arrival of werewolves.


Muppets Now – Episode 103 – “Getting Testy”

Joe, the new legal counsel for The Muppets, interrupts the scheduled delivery of Muppets Now to announce that all streaming content must be vetted by a focus group. Things go from bad to worse when Scooter meets up with the assigned test audience – curmudgeonly critics Statler & Waldorf. The Swedish Chef collaborates with Chef Roy Choi as the two try to make a one-of-kind kalbi bowl. Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his assistant, Beaker, enlist a Pizza Delivery Person (Al Madrigal) to explore velocity. Miss Piggy and her guests, Linda Cardellini and Taye Diggs, dig deep into the workings of a healthy relationship. Pepe The King Prawn’s unbelievable game show features new contestants, new challenges, new rules, and no planning at all

Hugh Jackman stars in this bold and original musical – inspired by the ambition and imagination of P.T. Barnum – celebrating the birth of show business and dreams coming to life.


Ant-Man and the Wasp (US/Canada)

Despite being under house arrest, Scott Lang, along with the Wasp, sets out to help Dr Hank Pym to enter the quantum realm as they face new enemies along the way.


One Day At Disney – Episode 137 – “Pavan Komkai: Broadcast Engineer”

Manager of Broadcast Engineering at Disney Streaming Services, Pavan “Billy” Komkai explains the unique process of broadcasting live sports on ESPN+ for fans around the world. No matter the time of day or the location of the event, Disney’s Streaming Services team provides viewers with high-quality coverage of diverse sporting events every day.


Magic Camp – Premiere

A group of misfit campers help a down-on-his-luck magician rediscover his love of magic in Disney’s “Magic Camp,” a heartwarming comedy about finding joy and confidence in self-acceptance.


Alaska Animal Rescue (S1)

Dedicated first responders, veterinarians and animal caretakers from the Alaska SeaLife Center, the Alaska Raptor Center and the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center brave dangerous terrain and unforgiving climates to respond to animals in need.


India’s Wild Leopards

India may be the land of the Tiger, but it is also home to masters of stealth that prowl the deepest of jungles and the highest of mountains. Journey to Ladakh in the Himalaya in search of Snow Leopards – the ghost of the mountains. Then venture into the realm of the smallest of big cats – the Clouded Leopard in the jungles of north east India. Wildlife Cameraman and National Geographic Fellow, Sandesh Kadur is on a mission to uncover their secretive lives.

“Nature Boom Time!” is an educational show about nature and the environment produced by World By Charlie Productions and currently airing on Nat Geo WILD. The show follows Charlie, Kirby, and Patrick – three perpetually enthusiastic best friends – as they travel around the United States to learn about trees and what makes nature incredibly awesome. Science and history are explained with paper cutouts and goofy girl Casey back at headquarters!


Sam’s Zookeeper Challenge (S1)

Join Sam Peltz, a wildlife enthusiast, as she takes on a new wildlife challenge! See Sam get up close and personal with a kinkajou, giraffes, penguins, and more!


Scuba Sam’s World (S1)

Learn some of the coolest facts about marine wildlife and the ocean as you join Scuba Sam on an aquatic journey and discover the wonders of the underwater world. Dive in as she teaches you about manta rays, nudibranchs, clownfish, jellyfish, and more so you can see for yourself why the ocean is such an amazing place for these creatures.


Spaced Out (S1)

Ever wanted to journey into space? Wondered about the Milky Way or if aliens really exist? Then get Spaced Out! Learn about our universe through imagery taken from the Hubble Space Telescope, and see how it inspires our world and culture.


T.O.T.S. (S1)

“T.O.T.S.,” a heartfelt animated comedy series for kids age 2-7, explores the hilarious adventures of best friends Pip and Freddy, a tenacious penguin and a kind-hearted flamingo, who are the only non-stork delivery birds in-training at Tiny Ones Transport Service (T.O.T.S.). As new members of the esteemed team, these junior flyers must take tender care in taking baby animals from the nursery to their forever families around the globe. Each episode features two 11-minute stories that highlight the use of creative thinking and problem solving to model for young viewers that there isn’t just one way to achieve a goal.

The One And Only Ivan (Global)

Ivan is a 400-pound silverback gorilla who shares a communal habitat in a suburban shopping mall with Stella the elephant and Bob the dog. He has few memories of the jungle where he was captured, but when a baby elephant named Ruby arrives, it touches something deep within him. Ruby is recently separated from her family in the wild, which causes him to question his life, where he comes from and where he ultimately wants to be.


Weird But True – Episode 302 – National Parks

To protect or enjoy? Hosts Carly and Charlie have two very different plans for the backyard and cannot come to an agreement. Carly thinks backyards are to be enjoyed, and Charlie thinks they should be protected. A visit with park rangers from Yellowstone National Park might just help settle Carly and Charlie’s debate.


The Muppets – Episode 104 – “Sleep Mode”

Scooter wakes up in horror to discover his all-nighters have finally gotten the best of him, and he has only 30 minutes to upload Muppets Now. With the clock ticking and his eyelids drooping, Scooter enlists Animal to help him stay awake. Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his assistant, Beaker, conduct a series of vibrational experiments with the help of a lonely, outdated computer. The Swedish Chef uncovers the secrets of Spaghetti Carbonara when staring down his competitor, Giuseppe Losavio. Miss Piggy sits down with Aubrey Plaza to conduct a fabulous one-on-one interview. Later, she looks out for number one as she focuses on self-care with guests Linda Cardellini and Taye Diggs.

“Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe” is an adventure story that tracks stepbrothers Phineas and Ferb as they set out across the galaxy to rescue their older sister Candace, who after being abducted by aliens, finds utopia in a far-off planet, free of pesky little brothers.


Weird But True – Episode 303 – Farming

Charlie and Carly run a fruit-and-vegetable stand outside of headquarters, but lately, they’ve been selling out of their crops faster than they can grow them. Carly has an idea to turn the garden into a farm, but they don’t have enough space to grow everything they need outside. She takes Charlie on a trip to an indoor vertical farm in NYC to learn new possibilities of farming!


“Fantastic Four” (2005) –

      As far as I know, the Falcon and Winter soldier has no release date. It was supposed to release in August, but because of Covid-19, the release date has been pushed back.

    Can you know if Disney have announced any new movies on Disney + in the U.K. and Ireland and will Disney annouce when Fancy Nancy seasons 1 & 2 come to Disney + U.K. and Ireland before September the U.K. Disney Junior had Fancy Nancy in January 2019 and will Disney annouce any new things for August 2020 for Disney + in the U.K. and Ireland
