With the release of the new Muppets series earlier this year, The Muppets Mayhem, we wanted to highlight on the fun, entertaining Muppets options that are currently on Disney+ to stream.
First of all, there are multiple movie/feature film options with “The Muppets Movie”, “Muppets Most Wanted”, “The Great Muppet Caper”, “Muppet Treasure Island”, and “The Muppet Movie” from 1979. Featuring the classic Muppet characters of Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, and many more, these are beloved titles that have a nostalgic feel for those familiar with the Muppet characters and bring a sense of fun for those watching these movies for the first time. The adventures star special guests such as Tina Fey, Tim Curry, Charles Grodin, and many more with silly stories that are for all ages.
There are a few holiday-centric Muppets offerings with “Muppets Haunted Mansion” and “Muppets Christmas Carol” for Halloween and Christmas, respectively. Both of these feature some very famous human co-stars. “Muppets Haunted Mansion” has characters played by Taraji P. Henson, John Stamos, and Yvette Nicole Brown. Both Brown and Stamos also have other offerings on Disney+ with the high school girls’ basketball series, Big Shot.“Muppets Haunted Mansion” is based on the beloved theme park attraction. Additionally, “Muppets Christmas Carol” has the multi-talented Michael Caine as Ebenezer Scrooge. The story follows the Charles Dickens classic with a few more family-friendly modifications.
Lastly, there are multiple Muppets episodic options with “Muppet Babies”, “Muppets Now”, “The Muppet Show”, and the new “Muppets Mayhem” series mentioned at the beginning of this article. These shows are mostly thirty and sixty minutes, making them easy to watch, especially for children. They each include fun characters, some singing, and some dancing.
As an interesting fact, the vocal actor for Miss Piggy and Fozzie Bear, Frank Oz, can also be found on Disney+ as the voice of Yoda in the legendary Star Wars movies.
Be sure to check out these and other Muppet films now on Disney+.
