Just as award season starts, Disney+ has picked up its first nomination at the Writers Guild Awards for the upcoming movie, Togo.   The movie’s writer, Tom Flynn, has been nominated in the “Original Longform” category, which will be competing against Chernobyl, True Detective and The Terror: Infamy.

Togo will be coming to Disney+ on December 20th and is based on the true story of the 1925 serum run to Nome, in which dog-sled teams relayed to transport diphtheria antitoxin serum through harsh conditions over nearly 700 miles to save the Alaskan town of Nome from an epidemic.

The 72nd annual WGA Awards will take place on Saturday, February 1st, with dual ceremonies being held in both Los Angeles and New York.
