Disney is back with another “The Simpsons” short, this time for Christmas. In this short, famed tenor Andrea Bocelli and his family are under the Simpsons’ tree for Christmas. Bocelli and his family sing a beautiful rendition of “Feliz Navidad” for the Simpsons while Bart keeps fighting to open his presents rather than listen to the music.

This short is only three minutes long but it’s a lot of fun if you appreciate either “The Simpsons,” tenor music, or both. Andrea Bocelli has one of the most beautiful voices in the world and is recognized as one of the most amazing tenors to ever perform. He continues that trend here with an amazing rendition of “Feliz Navidad.” He sings it with two of his children, Matteo and Virginia Bocelli.

Mixed in with the wonderful music is “The Simpsons” style of animated comedy we become accustomed to over the past three decades. Bart is fighting with his mother to open his presents. Eventually, he’s able to ride a bike across the screen as the short ends and right in front of a Mickey Mouse image that gives us a great line from Mickey, “not in front of the icon.” That part made my wife audibly laugh out loud. Then, as we roll through the credits, we get to see “The Simpsons” mingling with other famous Disney characters, including one scene where Goofy has caught Homer on a fishing line in Christmas lights. It’s amazing the comedy still works after all this time.

These “The Simpsons” shorts that Disney+ has added at different times have been hit or miss for me. I enjoy seeing them expand the property after acquiring it from Fox. But almost all of these shorts are completely unnecessary. Still, even while being unnecessary, most are still very humorous. I’m not clamoring for another one, but I guarantee you I will sit down and watch the next one that comes out.
