“Secrets Of The Deep” Coming Soon To Disney+
Last month, National Geographic released the latest instalment in the popular “Secrets Of” franchise on Disney+ around the world, where the documentary took a look at the “Secrets Of The Bees”. This followed documentaries released about Whales, Octopuses, Elephants, and Penguins.
During a recent interview with Deadline, National Geographic President Courteney Monroe, revealed that they are already working on multiple new instalments in the franchise, including “Secrets Of The Bears” in 2027 and that will be followed by “Secrets Of The Deep” in 2028.
National Geographic Explorer Bertie Gregory will once again return to host the three-part series, along with marine biologist Dr Diva Amon, which journeys into the ocean’s most unexplored realms around the world. The three-part series, which comes from BBC Studios Natural History Unit, will reveal the strange, emotional, and deeply interconnected lives of creatures in Earth’s most mysterious and least understood ecosystem.
It will be executive produced by Roger Webb, along with Lightstorm Earth’s James Cameron and Maria Wilhelm, with Mark Wheele and Bertie Gregory also working on the show as producers.
Courteney Monroe, also confirmed that more adventures in the franchise are on the way.
“These are not quick turnaround shows. It’s partly why we plan ahead… we’re already thinking about what is next beyond [Secrets of the Deep] so we can deploy teams into the field to capture behavior over a long period of time. There’s some flexibility when you’re when you’re building it as a recurring franchise, but it’s not scripted. We can’t tell the animals where to be on what day and what to do. That’s kind of the beauty of the natural world.”
