Hulu Developing “Just One Day” Series

20th Television is developing a brand new series called “Just One Day”, which is based on the popular YA romance novels by Gayle Forman.

The series will tell the story of Allyson Healey, whose life is exactly like her suitcase — packed, planned, ordered. Then on the last day of her three-week post-graduation European tour, she meets Willem. A free-spirited, roving actor, Willem is everything she’s not, and when he invites her to abandon her plans and come to Paris with him, Allyson says yes. This uncharacteristic decision leads to a day of risk and romance, liberation and intimacy: 24 hours that will transform Allyson’s life.

This new series will star Kathryn Newton, who recently starred in “Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania” and “Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come”, plus she will be appearing in the upcoming “Avengers: Doomsday” later this year.

“Just One Day” was originally published back in the summer of 2013, and the sequel, “Just One Year”, was released the following year and has sold almost a million copies.

According to Deadline, this series was originally in development at Amazon, as the show’s executive producer, Patrick Moran, has a first-look deal there with his company PKM Productions.  Also working on this show will be “Beauty & the Beast” co-creators Sherri Cooper and Jennifer Levin, writing the adaptation. 

As with any project in early development, no other details for this series, such as who else will star in it, when it will go into production or when it might get released on Hulu/Disney+ have been revealed.  And since its still in development, it might go through some creative changes and might not necessarily arrive on our screens.
