This week, the 35th Annual GLAAD Media Awards have been held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Hollywood, over multiple nights and on the main night of the ceremony, Disney picked up some more awards for its shows, including “Secret Invasion”, “Abbott Elementary” and the FX series, “Snowfall”.

The Disney+ Original series, “Secret Invasion”, won the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Television Movie, Limited–Series or Dramatic Special award for Don Cheadle’s performance.

“Abbot Elementary” won the award for Outstanding Comedy Series, and Quinta Brunson won the Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in the show. William Stanford Davis also won in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series category.

The FX series, “Snowfall”, picked up two awards, including Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series, which was won by Damson Idris, and Gail Bean picked up the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series award.

And Ayo Edebiri won the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in FX’s “The Bear”

GLAAD is the world’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization.  During the event, Oprah Winfrey received the Vanguard Award.   The ceremony was hosted by Wayne Brady, who will soon be featured in his own reality series on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Disney’s animated series, “Hailey’s On It”, picked up the award in the Outstanding Animated Kids & Family Programming or Film category.

It was also revealed that the Hulu documentary, “Relighting Candles”, was also awarded a Special Recognition award.

  • Outstanding Directing in a Motion Picture – Ava DuVernay – “Origin”
  • Outstanding Cinematography in a Feature Film  – Eric K. Yue – “A Thousand and One”
  • Outstanding Breakthrough Creative (Motion Picture) – Blitz Bazawule – “The Color Purple”
