Milan Records has announced details on the soundtrack to the upcoming Searchlight Pictures film, “Poor Things”, which is a brand new film that follows Bella Baxter (Emma Stone), a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). Under Baxter’s protection, Bella is eager to learn. Hungry for the worldliness she is lacking, Bella runs off with Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), a slick and debauched lawyer, on a whirlwind adventure across the continents. Free from the prejudices of her times, Bella grows steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation.

The soundtrack will be released on digital platforms on December 8th 2023, which is the same day as when the film is released in cinemas.

The soundtrack features original music written by pianist, violinist, songwriter and composer Jerskin Fendrix, who has made his film scoring debut on the project, who said in a statement:

“If there’s some kind of injustice or [the characters are] upset about something it comes out in this extremely endearing and kind of cute and embarrassing way. And [so] my toolbox, musically, is talking about feelings in a very embarrassingly kind of open way. There was also the cosmetic side of making sure that [the score] could keep up with how extraordinarily imaginative all of the production and the costume designs were. But, at the core of it, I think it really had to be very emotionally vulnerable and non-verbal.”
