Just ahead of the return of the popular medical drama, “Grey’s Anatomy”, it’s been revealed by TVLine that Scott Speedman is going to be returning for the upcoming 21st season and will will be appearing in more episodes than he has in previous seasons.

“Grey’s Anatomy” follows a team of doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial who are faced with life-or death decisions on a daily basis. They seek comfort from one another, and, at times, more than just friendship. Together they discover that neither medicine nor relationships can be defined in black and white.

In the upcoming season, Scott is expected to star in five episodes, up from the previous season. Scott debuted in the 14th season of “Grey’s Anatomy”, where he plays the role of Merdith’s on-off boyfriend, Nick Marsh, who in the last season, moved into a new house with Merdith.

Earlier this summer, it was revealed that Ellen Pompeo is also going to be appearing in more episodes of the latest season, following the last couple of seasons, where she had a reduced on-screen role, though she still provided the voice over for each episode.

With the upcoming season, many of the recurring characters are going to appearing in fewer episodes, rather than getting a payrise, to keep costs down.
