Janelle James Developing New Hulu Comedy Series “Rock City”
After finding success in ABC’s “Abbott Elementary”, Janelle James is now developing a brand-new comedy series for Hulu/Disney+ called “Rock City”.
This new comedy follows a woman who returns to her hometown in the Virgin Islands after she inherits a local tourist trap from her estranged father. However, she quickly realises that she’s been left much more than a simple beachfront bar and grill.
According to Variety, “Rock City” is being developed by Universal Television and is being co-created by “Happy Endings” creator David Caspe, with both David and Janelle executive producing the project.
In addition to working on “Abbott Elementary”, Janelle has also worked on “Monsters at Work” and “Central Park”, with David also working on “Black Monday” and “Mr Throwback”.
No other details on the project have been revealed, such as who might star in it, when it might begin production or eventually hit Hulu or Disney+.
As with any project in early development, it could be years until we see it released on our screens, and during that development process, there could be creative changes along the way.
