Disney has released the trailer for the upcoming unscripted drama series, “Royal Rules of Ohio”, which follows three Ghanaian sisters as they navigate their twenties in Columbus, Ohio. The Agyekum sisters live a lavish life as the daughters of royal descendants of two of the most wealthy and powerful Ghanaian kingdoms. However, with that privilege comes great responsibility. Behind closed doors, viewers are given a glimpse into the double lives the sisters are living that could tarnish their family’s noble reputation.

“Royal Rules of Ohio” stars Thelma Agyekum, Akili Bobo Agyekum, Brenda Agyekum, Delali Agyekum, and Nana Agyekum.

The series is produced by eOne’s unscripted business, which is a division of Lionsgate Alternative Television. With eOne’s involvment in the series, it does make an international release on Disney+ less likely.

“Royal Rules of Ohio” is going to premiere on Freeform on Wednesday 15th May 2024 at 10:30 p.m. EDT and it will stream the next day on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+.

Roger’s POV: “Royal Rules of Ohio” should help fill in the Freeform schedule, which is very bare nowadays and this looks like a rather “cheap” series to make, when compared to the original scripted drama series that used to air on the channel. The trailer didn’t do a lot for me but I’m not really the target audience, however, I’m really glad we’re getting different types of content for subscribers and viewers to enjoy.
