Disney has announced a brand new unscripted show called “Royal Rules of Ohio”, which is a new docuseries following three Ghanaian sisters as they navigate their twenties in Columbus, Ohio. The Agyekum sisters live a lavish life as the daughters of royal descendants of two of the most wealthy and powerful Ghanaian kingdoms. However, with that privilege comes great responsibility. Behind closed door, viewers are given a glimpse into the double lives the sisters are living that could tarnish their family’s noble reputation.

The series is executive produced by Tara Long, Ben Megargel, Madison Merritt, Kim McKoy, Amy Callahan, and Jayson Elmore.  The series is coming from eOne, so it’s unknown if this series will also be released internationally on Disney+ as a Star Original.

Rob Mills serves as EVP Unscripted and Alternative Entertainment, Walt Disney Television. Belisa Balaban is SVP of Unscripted Series and Documentaries, Hulu Originals. Dane Joseph is VP Unscripted Content Development.

No details have been announced on when “Royal Rules of Ohio” will arrive on Hulu and are one of many new unscripted shows announced for Hulu, which will no doubt help fill the void this year should there be a writer’s strike and also be much cheaper to produce than a drama series, to help with Disney cutting its content budget by $3 billion over the next few years.
