Rennervations | Disney+ Original Review
Jeremy Renner is taking vehicles that he’s purchased over the years and having a crew refit them so they can be used to benefit the community in the Disney+ Original Series, “Rennervations.” Renner, who is best known for playing Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is a collector of unusual vehicles. Rather than classic cars, he has collected fire trucks, ambulances, school buses and tour buses. Now, he’s combining his passion for these vehicles with a passion for giving back in the new series for Disney+.
This show just wasn’t for me. The concept is wonderful, and I’m happy Jeremy Renner has found a way to combine his two passions, but I’ve never been one to watch any type of makeover shows. I didn’t care about making over people. I didn’t care about making over homes, and I don’t care about making over vehicles. All of these concepts have a purpose and an audience, but I’m not that audience.
What makes this series so special is when it is airing in relation to awful snowplow accident, he was involved in. Renner was crushed by a snowplow on his property earlier this year. He survived but has been forced to undergo several surgeries and has a long recovery road ahead. We’ve been able to see him since the accident, but he’s clearly still badly hurt. This series was obviously shot before the accident, so he looks like the Jeremy Renner we remember from television and film. It’s nice to see him fully healthy and hopefully we see him as close to this version of himself as possible in the near future.
If you like makeover shows and different types of vehicles, you may love this show. It’s not bad at all, it just wasn’t made for me, and that’s okay. I hope those who are inclined to enjoy this type of show enjoy it. And I hope to see more of Jeremy Renner in the future.
