The Disney+ Original SparkShort “Loop” has named “Best Short in Show” at Siggraph’s annual Computer Animation Festival Electronic Theater competition.

This event was held virtually due to the Coronavirus and the event is viewed as a qualifying festival for the Academy Awards, which means that “Loop” is likely to be a contender for an Oscar in 2021.

In “Loop,” two kids at canoe camp find themselves adrift on a lake, unable to move forward until they find a new way to connect and see the world through each other’s eyes. This film breaks new ground by featuring Pixar’s first non-verbal autistic character.

“Loop” is available now on Disney+.
